Former Uruguayan President Jose Mujica attended an event organized by the Armenian community in Uruguay at Montevideo Plaza Armenia. The event commemorated the 100th Anniversary of Armeniaթ§Չ-Չ§s 20 Hunchakian Martyrs.
The event was also attended by community members and the representative of Armenian Embassy in Argentina.
President Mujica laid a wreath at the Plazaթ§Չ-Չ§s Khachtkar (cross stone), and twenty flowers at the base of the Armenian Genocide monument, Masis Post reports. 20 doves were released in honor of the martyrs.
