President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Rovnak Abdullayev, said Thursday that Turkey and Azerbaijan began working on the ‘Trans Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline’ that will extend from the eastern part of Turkey all the way up to the western part.
Speaking at the Third Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum, Abdullayev said that “with the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum natural gas pipeline, Turkey and Azerbaijan gained more importance in the region”.
Azerbaijan is a strong country with its economy. SOCAR has a crucial place in the Azerbaijani economy, Abdullayev stressed.
SOCAR has invested in various countries. Turkey ranks as one of the countries in which SOCAR has made numerous investments, Abdullayev said.
With the ‘Trans Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline’, Azerbaijani natural gas will be taken to the Turkish and European markets. This is a great accomplishment for two brotherly states of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Abdullayev also said.
